Ultimate HomeLab™
The Ultimate HomeLab is the ultimate home X-ray diffraction system, enabling data collection on the widest range of protein crystal samples. The foundation is the FR-E+ SuperBright™ microfocus generator. When coupled with VariMax™ optics, the Ultimate HomeLab provides the highest possible usable flux available in a home laboratory source. Using the latest in microfocus technology, the FR-E+ SuperBright has a 70 x 70 micron anode focal spot. When coupled with a VariMax optic, this uniquely small focal spot leads to a small, monochromatic beam on the sample which is the perfect complement to optimize signal-to-noise for the small crystals used in today's protein laboratories. The usable flux produced by the Ultimate HomeLab is up to 35 times greater than that of a conventional generator and optic, enabling the collection of quality data on small crystals that diffract too weakly on standard home sources.

Rigaku manufactured detectors are fully integrated with the FR-E generator and VariMax optics to allow high resolution data collection on your samples. Rigaku manufactures both imaging plate (IP) and CCD based detectors that are state-of-the-art for protein X-ray diffraction data screening and data collection. Both IP and CCD detectors have unique capabilities that make them complementary technologies to have in any one laboratory. With the Ultimate HomeLab, one port is configured with a Rigaku R-AXIS IP detector for small or poorly diffracting crystals with possibly large unit cells. The second port is configured with a Rigaku Saturn CCD detector for screening or fast data collection with crystals that diffract well.

For increased throughput, a Rigaku ACTOR™ crystal mounting robot ensures maximum productivity.
