PCNet routinely assists Customers with asset management responsibilities including inventory tracking, installation and redeployment, cascading and asset disposal. PCNet participates in all aspects of asset life cycles from customized bar code tagging prior to delivery - desktop rollouts - recording new IT deployments - and the eventual disposal of obsolete equipment. In addition, PCNet also administers upgrade maintenance programs when authorized by the OEM publishers such as Microsoft, Lotus and Novell.
Traditional inventory systems are designed to manage inventory items that move
frequently and have a pattern of usage. In most MRO inventories, however, only
5-15% of items are frequently used. The remaining 85% of items are infrequently
used and do not have a usage pattern. This creates poor fill rates, high inventory
investments and dead inventory. It also prevents a company from being able to
return items to suppliers during "favorable commercial terms." The
xIO Service will set minimums and maximums (or order points and order quantities)
for all MRO items, whether they are frequently or infrequently used, that will
achieve customer specified fill rates at the lowest possible inventory investment.
