ATM2x8 is
an automatic machine for inspection of pre-filled syringes. It is designed to
be inserted in modern pharmaceutical production lines, and it is typically
installed downstream from filling lines and upstream from labelling and
packaging systems.

The ATM2x8
is automatically loaded in line. Rejected syringes are collected in stainless
steel rails, while accepted syringes proceed in line towards downstream
equipment. Machine consists of:

 Mechanical module: inserted in the
production line, it transports the syringes along the inspection path. The
mechanical module consists of three heads with a common infeed/outfeed system.
At the infeed station there is an operator
control panel with touch screen PC, start, stop and emergency stop controls
and a flat panel LCD colour display.

 Control Cabinet: it consists of a
three-door stainless steel cabinet which contains the printer and all the
machine’s electronics and control circuitry, except for the power supplies for
the lighting units, which are installed in a cabinet integrated with the
machine.

Process
control is totally automatic. The container is accepted if all inspection
results are received as positive by the system. Each container undergoes a
series of inspections performed by 15 inspection systems. Containers are transported
along the inspection path, which includes the inspections listed here below:

Machine is in line with a syringe nest unpacker model SET 6006 and syringe tray loader model SEM 8061, both from supplier Bausch+Strobel.

All GMP documents are available and machine is currently used for manufacturing of medicines for all world, incl. US and EU.

We will not use anymore this machine, which is placed downstream to filling line (listing n°885181).
