Nordson products are designed and manufactured according to strict specifications, standards of high quality and innovative technologies that provide efficient long-term performance. These applicators melt the adhesive, control it at the operating temperatures, and pump it through hoses to the dispensing guns. These apply the adhesive to the surface of the product or package. It is used to melt, pump/transfer and apply hot material, but not intended for use with polyurethane-reactive hot melt material.

The tank melts the adhesive and holds it until it is pumped to the dispensing guns. The materials pass through a piston pump into a distribution manifold. The manifold directs the flow of adhesive from the pump to the filter and from the filter to the hoses and guns. With its aluminium construction, cast-in heaters, and integral melting fins, the tank is designed for efficient heat transfer. A strainer in the tank prevents unmelted adhesive from blocking the pump inlet when you fill the tank. The tank is Teflon-coated for easy cleaning. The operator panel provides the controls and indicators you need to program, operate, and monitor your hot melt system. The control system regulates all temperature settings and controls how the unit functions. Nordson series H-400 guns are used to apply thermoplastic hot melt adhesive to a product and are designed for use with Nordson hot melt units and hoses. H-400 guns use resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) for precise temperature sensing. Nordson RTD-style hot melt hoses provide superior temperature control, reliability and improved safety. Equipped with PC-40 Pattern control, which is a time-based control that makes it possible to quickly and easily set up, select, or change material application patterns when material is applied to substrates moving at a constant line speed. It controls the deposit of material on a moving surface (substrate). This unit is equipped with MultiScan control which provides individual setpoints for each heated component and microprocessor-based diagnostics.
