Equipment Description:

Biochar Pellet Processing Plant

Biochar is a solid material obtained from the carbonisation of biomass. Biochar may be added to soils with the intention to improve soil functions and to reduce emissions from biomass that would otherwise naturally degrade to greenhouse gases. Biochar also has appreciable carbon sequestration value. These properties are measurable and verifiable in a characterisation scheme, or in a carbon emission offset protocol.
Biochar can be an important tool to increase food security and cropland diversity in areas with severely depleted soils, scarce organic resources, and inadequate water and chemical fertilizer supplies.

Biochar also improves water quality and quantity by increasing soil retention of nutrients and agrochemicals for plant and crop utilization. More nutrients stay in the soil instead of leaching into groundwater and causing pollution.

  • This process is a compact struture with advanced technology. It is suitable for the milling of tree branches, bsrk, wood chips, and stalks from farm plants less than 50mm diameter
  • Process stream: material feeding-breaking-milling=discharging-finished product-packing

  • Processing Equipment Includes:

  • Hammer mill, 22KW 3/60, diameter of input material: 50-70mm, size of material after milling: 5-25mm diameter according to need, 2600 r/min rotor speed, swing hammers

  • Hammer mill, 14" X 26" throat size, on base, no motor drive

  • Material dried in a twin boiler hot air dryer system, high-speed hot air stream sustains raw material in the suspending state, than the material is dried. Since the air stream speed is very high, and material is suspended in the air stream, the heat transfer surfaces between air and solid is large, and heat transfer rate is high. It's particulary suitable for drying heat sensitive material like sawdust, milled stalks, etc. Productivity: when the hot air is at 180 deg C the capacity to dry saw dust with relative humidity 35-50% is 200-250kg/h (NHGJ-I), 400-500kg/h (NHGJ-II), 500-700kg/h (NHGJ-III), the output capacity will vary according to the moisture content within the above range. Temperatures must be in the range of between 180- 250 deg. C. In the drying process, clean cool air is heated by hot air stove and mixed with wet material sent by the spiral feeder. Wet sawdust is dried in a few minutes. Dried material is discharged through a centrifugal fan. Exhaust air is let out into the atmosphere.

  • Two (2) Pellet machines with controls, 22KW motor drive, one unit missing parts

  • Industrial Vacuum Company Hurricane Dust Collector, pulse jet style with (5) pulse jets, on legs, Roots Blower package, model 624 RAM J, serial no. 08069720793, 75 HP motor 230/460V, controls, skid mount design

  • Gorbel 5 ton free standing Jib crane with controls

  • Four (4) McAbee 1805 gallon vertical Autoclave's, 66in ID x 96in straight side, MAWP: 400psi @ 650F, carbon steel construction, National Board stamped, 2008 with ~(36) 5' X 8' c/s inserts for material for autoclaves

  • EVTN Voraxial 2000 Separator, design flow rate: 20-60 GPM, MAWP: 100 PSI @230 deg. F, serial no. 02038, new 2009. This is a continuous flow turbo machine that generates a vortex to separate a mixture of fluids or a combination of fluids and solids by their different densities. The heavier elements are drawn to the outside of the vortex while the lighter materials are drawn toward the center, forming a central core of the vortex. The outer stream contains the heavier particles while the lighter elements are found in the inner core. A specially designed manifold is utilized at the exit of the separation chamber to collect the separated streams.

  • Four (4) Precision Scientific 150 gallon 316L stainless steel pressure vessel, rated 40 and 60 PSI internal, 90 PSI jacket, 48" diameter X 24" straight side, National Board stamped
