Equipment Description:

  • Line was manufactured in 2006
  • Due to a marketing - packaging change it is no longer needed
  • Line was running 75 (60 count) and 150cc (90 count) round plastic containers
  • Approximate line speed was 100 kits per minute
  • Kits were run in groups of four at a time.
  • Each kit consisted of a base tray - bottom / partioned insert / bottle of product / capsule case / banded package of information booklets and top clear lid
  • Line consists of the following components:


  • Base Depalletizer
  • Manufactured by PCA
  • Serial #: HP-130
  • Robotic pick and place style vacuum transfer head
  • Each layer of base trays is seperated by a slip sheet (in order to prevent nesting)
  • The pick and place picks one entire layer of base trays at a time allong with the slip sheet.
  • As the head indexes to the tray take away conveyor it drops the sheet into a collection gaylord or D container
  • The pick and place then discharges the bottom trays on to the conveyor in groups of four at a time.
  • The base tray dimensions are: 8-1/2"long x 6-5/8"wide x 2"deep

  • Each head has it's own operator loaded insert magazine
  • The insert has three compartments. One for bottle of capsules. One for capsule carry case and one for booklets
  • Speeds to 100 kits per minute


  • Schubert Kit Assembly Machine
  • Unit consists of four seperate cells
  • Cell 1 serial #: 00035475
  • Used to orient and place capsule cases (shuttles) into the tray insert
  • Two head robotic pick and place vacuum heads
  • Shuttles are supplied to the machine by two small elevators with centrifugal sorters
  • After they are oriented they are placed on a short belt conveyor and sent to the main machine
  • They are fed in a random pattern and pass through a scanner to determine their orientation
  • The pick and place heads then pick the shuttle, rotate it in to position and place it in the tray
  • Cell 2 serial #: 00035521
  • Used to receive, space, lay over bottles, rotate for orientation and place them in to the tray
  • Bottles are placed in to four trays at a time
  • The bottles are laid over on to their sides in four cradles.
  • They are then rotated until the front label is facing up for good appearance in the tray
  • Each rotation station is independent and will keep spinning the bottle until the registration mark is recognized
  • After all four bottle labels are facing up they are then taken by pick and place heads and placed in the kit

  • Booklet placing station
  • Books are supplied to the machine in layered boxes
  • There is a four head pick and place system used to take the booklets from the box and place them in the tray
  • The package consists of seven booklets all shrink banded together.
  • The finished dimensions of the package are 5-1/4" long x 3-1/2"wide x 1"high
  • The weight of each booklet pack is .50 lb.

  • Four head placement station of clear lids to the top of the finished kit.
  • Lids are supplied to the machine by conveyor from the lid depalletizer (listed below)
  • There is also a reject station that will remove any kit that was missing any component
