Equipment Description
AB Sciex 4000 Q TRAP LC/MS/MS system, a hybrid triple quadrupole / linear ion trap mass spectrometer built on the Applied Biosystems / MDS Sciex platform. The instrument carries assembly number 1022643 and serial number AR24040904 on the MDS Sciex nameplate, and is labeled internally as LC-MS SYSTEM# AX03. It is configured for LC/MS/MS work with an atmospheric-pressure ion source interface, and supports the full range of QTRAP scan functions - MRM, product and precursor ion, neutral loss, and enhanced ion trap scans - for quantitative and qualitative small-molecule and biomolecule analysis. The system is sold with the front-end Shimadzu Prominence HPLC shown in the photos: a DGU-20A5R degassing unit with reservoir tray (cat. 228-45019-58), two LC-20AD binary liquid chromatograph pumps (cat. 228-45000-32), a SIL-20AC refrigerated autosampler (cat. 228-45007-32) fitted with a 100 uL sample loop assembly (228-45402-95), two CTO-20A column ovens (cat. 228-45009-32), and a CBM-20A communications bus module (cat. 228-45012-32). The Shimadzu modules are rated 100-120 V, 50/60 Hz, single phase. A turbomolecular pump (MDS Sciex assembly 1025134, serial 22885090330) is mounted at the source end of the mass spectrometer, and an exhaust duct and vacuum line connect the instrument to the house services. In the photos the LC-20AD pump display is lit and reporting flow rate and pressure and the DGU-20A5R control LED is green, so the HPLC stack was energized at the time of inspection. The system is bench mounted in a laboratory setting and is removed as separate modules. No other information on condition, hours or service history was recorded; the mass spectrometer's own operating condition was not demonstrated in the photographs.

Powers On Explanations

LC-20AD pump display lit showing 0.2500 mL flow and pressure readings, and DGU-20A5R control LED green, photos 7-8. The mass spectrometer itself is not shown powered.
