Equipment Description
Barnstead Thermolyne DB17615 Type 17600 Dri-Bath dry bath/heat block, a benchtop analog dry block heater used in labs to hold sample tubes and vials at a set temperature without a water bath. The unit accepts a single interchangeable aluminum heating block in its heated well and is operated with a front OFF/ON rocker switch and a 1-10 analog temperature control dial, with green POWER and amber CONTROL indicator lamps on the front panel. Per the data label on the rear of the unit, the DB17615 runs on 120 volts, 50/60 Hz, single phase, 0.6 amps / 75 watts, and is supplied with an attached line cord and standard North American plug. The molded housing has integral side handles for carrying, and the overall footprint is approximately 10 in long x 9 in wide x 6 in high. Photos of this unit show one blue anodized multi-well block seated in the bath plus two additional loose blocks pictured alongside it - a blue 20-well block and a bare aluminum 20-well block. The housing shows the age-related discoloration typical of this vintage, and the top panel is hand-marked "GP" and "GEP" in marker. The unit was removed from an R&D facility (field reference: Lifordi NH lot 103 - Barnstead Thermolyne Dry Bath). Operating condition was not verified at the time of inspection.
