Equipment Description
Beckman Coulter Optima AUC analytical ultracentrifuge, a floor-standing instrument used to characterize proteins, nucleic acids, viral vectors and other macromolecules in solution by sedimentation velocity and sedimentation equilibrium. The system combines a vacuum, temperature-controlled ultracentrifuge drive with optical detection so that sedimentation is monitored in real time during the run. The nameplate identifies the unit as an Optima Analytical Ultracentrifuge, REF B86436, Model AUC, serial number AUC18L01, with a manufacture date of 2018-11-08, and rates it at 200-240 VAC, 20 A, 50/60 Hz. The platform runs analytical rotors such as the An-50 Ti and An-60 Ti at speeds up to 60,000 rpm under vacuum, with temperature control over the approximately 4-40 C range, and is operated from a touchscreen interface. Photos show the machine with its Elo touchscreen monitor mounted on an arm at the right rear of the top deck, the rotor chamber open with the drive hub and chamber cover visible, and a set of cell/optical component holders recessed in the right-hand top panel. A power cord is coiled on the housing, a biohazard label is applied next to the chamber opening, and a small cardboard box marked "Airfuge Tools" is resting on the top of the unit in photo 1 (not confirmed as part of the sale). No rotor, cells or torque stand are visible in the photos. Condition, run hours and functional status were not recorded by the field rep, and the display is not lit in the photos, so the buyer should verify operation and confirm which rotors, cells and accessories are included.
