Equipment Description
The Bio-Rad Bio-Plex 200 is a benchtop multiplex suspension array system built on Luminex xMAP technology. Using two lasers and a flow-based detection cell, it reads color-coded bead sets so that up to 100 analytes can be quantified simultaneously in a single small-volume sample. Typical applications include cytokine, chemokine, phosphoprotein, isotyping and nucleic acid multiplex assays in research and biopharmaceutical laboratories. This system consists of the Bio-Plex 200 reader (Luminex 100/200, S/N LX10021231423, built 2021-08-19 per the nameplate in photo 5), the Luminex XYP plate-handling platform beneath it (S/N LXY21236621, built 2021-08-24, photo 7) and the Bio-Plex HTF high-throughput fluidics module (Luminex SD, S/N LXSD21224621, built 2021-08-12, photo 8). The reader is rated 100-120 V, 1.4 A / 200-240 V, 0.8 A, 47-63 Hz, single phase; the XYP platform is rated 100-240 V, 1.8 A and the HTF 100-240 V, 0.4 A. The unit carries CE and cTUVus marks and is labeled a Class 1 Laser Product (photos 5 and 6). The XYP platform accepts standard 96-well microplates and is shown with its plate carrier and sample probe in place. Photos show the instrument as removed from service on a laboratory bench, with the HTF connected by sheath/air tubing and a sheath fluid reservoir bottle alongside. A biohazard label is affixed to the front panel of the reader; the system was used in a biopharmaceutical laboratory and should be decontaminated and verified by the buyer. No computer, software, or calibration/validation kits are confirmed in the photos. The system was not reported powered on or tested at the time of the site visit.
