Equipment Description
Bio-Rad QX200 Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) system consisting of a QX200 Droplet Reader (S/N 771BR3861, date of manufacture 2016/09), a Bio-Rad Automated Droplet Generator (AutoDG) and a Bio-Rad PX1 PCR Plate Sealer (S/N 770BR4636). The QX200 platform is used for absolute quantification of DNA and RNA targets by partitioning a sample into approximately 20,000 nanoliter-sized droplets, amplifying each droplet by endpoint PCR and reading the droplets individually. The QX200 Droplet Reader processes up to 96 samples per run, streaming droplets single file past a two-color detector with FAM/EvaGreen and HEX/VIC detection channels; photo 3 shows the 96-well plate holder and the green droplet-reader oil bottle housing. The Automated Droplet Generator automates droplet formation for a full 96-well plate using DG32 automated droplet generator cartridges; its enclosed deck with reagent and tip positions, waste bottle and front touchscreen interface are visible in photos 4 through 6. The PX1 PCR Plate Sealer heat-seals ddPCR plates with foil and is operated from its own touchscreen (photos 7 and 8). Nameplate data: QX200 Droplet Reader 100-240 V, 50-60 Hz, 1 A, fuse T5AH 250 V, made in U.S.A., CE marked (photo 11). PX1 PCR Plate Sealer 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz, 840 W max, fuse 250 VAC F 8.0 A, date of manufacture 2016 (photo 9). The Automated Droplet Generator nameplate (photo 10) shows a 26 VDC input supplied by an external 100-240 VAC, 47-63 Hz power supply. All three units were photographed in place on a laboratory bench and carry biohazard and "Please Do Not Turn Off" labels from the seller's facility; no decontamination status, operating hours or service history is documented. A computer, monitor, QX Manager/QuantaSoft software licenses and consumables are not confirmed in the photos and should not be assumed included.
