Equipment Description
Biotek (now Agilent) Synergy H1 multi-mode microplate reader, a benchtop monochromator-based instrument used for absorbance, fluorescence and luminescence measurements in microplate formats. The unit is identified on the internal nameplate as REF H1M, serial number 1909231D, with a manufacturing date of 2019-09-23 and 'Made in USA' marking (photo 2). The reader uses Biotek's flexible monochromator optics with a motorized plate transport and reads standard microplate formats under Gen5 software control from a connected PC. The rear panel (photos 5 and 6) carries the accessory/external interface connector, a serial port, a USB-B computer port and a circular accessory connector, along with the cooling fan. The instrument is powered from an external AC/DC power supply, shown connected in photo 6, which accepts 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz single-phase input. The nameplate carries CE, FCC and TUV NRTL C-US markings, and a rear label notes the instrument is not for human in vitro diagnostic use. Photo 3 shows the interior of the instrument with the optics and transport mechanism accessible through the top service cover; no reagent injectors are visible in the photographed compartment. An Agilent CrossLab service label on the side of the housing (photo 4) records preventive maintenance performed on 28 July 2023 with the next service due July 2024. The unit carries an internal asset label 'PLR-001' on the front cover and removal tags from the site visit. The reader is shown standing loose on a bench with its IEC power cord and external power supply. No computer, software licence or additional accessories are shown in the photographs, and the unit was not observed powered on.
