Equipment Description
The Caliper Life Sciences TurboVap 96 is a benchtop concentration workstation used to evaporate and concentrate samples held in 96-well microplates and deep-well plates. Evaporation is driven by a heated sample block combined with a directed nitrogen gas stream delivered through a needle manifold that drops into each well, allowing unattended, high-throughput solvent removal in sample preparation and SPE workflows. The unit has two independent plate positions, each with its own heated block and 96-needle gas manifold; photos 3 and 4 show both manifolds and both plate nests with their retaining frames in place. The membrane control panel (photo 2) provides separate setpoints for the two positions, with indicators for Gas Time, Plate Temperature, Flow Rate, Elapsed Time and Cycle Readout, plus Over Temperature and Low Flow alarm lamps, and a digital Value/Units readout. The serial tag (photo 5) reads part number 103263/2, serial TV0925N15297, 100/120 V~, 60 Hz, 6 A T250 V fuse, and carries a CE mark; the unit was built by Caliper Life Sciences in Hopkinton, MA. Published data for this model calls for a nitrogen supply between roughly 30 and 80 psi and a plate heater range up to about 80 C. The workstation sits on a bench and appears complete and externally intact, with a surplus asset tag (312242) and a preventive maintenance/calibration sticker on the front housing. No power cord, gas line, exhaust hose or microplates are shown in the photos, and operation was not verified.
