Equipment Description
The CTL ImmunoSpot S6 Universal Analyzer is an automated image-analysis instrument for ELISPOT, FluoroSpot and BioSpot assay plate reading. The S6 Universal platform combines a high-resolution digital area-scan camera with a motorized zoom/focus optical train, a precision micro-stepping plate stage and both transmitted (white light) and epi-fluorescence illumination, so it can be used for single- and double-color enzymatic ELISPOT counting as well as multi-color fluorescence FluoroSpot/BioSpot work, viral titer (FRNT/PRNT) assays, colony counting and live cell counting. Per CTL's published data the S6 Universal accepts a wide range of well formats including 96- and 384-well microplates and strip plates. This is a self-contained floor/bench console: the optical enclosure sits on a cabinet base with an integrated ImmunoSpot-branded flat panel monitor mounted above it, a pull-out keyboard tray with keyboard below, an illuminated red power switch on the front panel, and an internal PC running the ImmunoSpot software. The manufacturer's plate on the rear (photo 4) reads CTL Analyzers, LLC, Shaker Heights OH, SN S6UNIV-02-7290, input 110-240 VAC 50/60 Hz, input fuse Buss GMA 3.15 A, CE marked, manufactured 02-02-2021, PN 2001726. Two 96-well microplates are sitting on the keyboard shelf in photos 1 and 3. The unit powers on: the monitor is lit in photos 1 and 2, showing a Windows PE command window and an Acronis Cyber Protect backup/recovery console connected to the machine named 'S6UNIV-02-7290'. A note attached to the front of the instrument states that credentials are needed, so the buyer should expect to obtain software login credentials and any required licensing from CTL. No further information on calibration, service history or performance qualification was available at the time of the visit, and no accessories beyond the integrated monitor, keyboard and the plates shown are documented.
