Equipment Description
Eppendorf Mastercycler ep gradient S thermal cycler for standard and gradient PCR. The unit uses a 96-well format block with a hinged, self-adjusting heated lid, and is configured with the silver block ("S") for fast, uniform heat transfer across all wells. The gradient function lets a temperature gradient be applied across the block in a single run, so annealing temperatures can be optimized in one experiment rather than in successive runs. The nameplate on the rear of the instrument reads Eppendorf AG, 22331 Hamburg, No. 5345, serial 013110, 100-130 V, 50-60 Hz, 800 W, CE marked, UL listed, made in Germany. The rear panel carries the power switch and inlet plus Printer, RS-232, Control Panel, CAN_out, CAN_in, terminator and address connections, allowing the cycler to be operated from an Eppendorf control panel and daisy-chained with additional ep units. Photos show the lid open with the empty 96-well block and the "Caution: Hot Surface" lid warning, the front status window, and the instrument sitting on a bench with its power cord attached. No control panel, PCR plates, tube racks or other accessories are shown with the unit; verify what is included. The field notes for this record read only "Disregard - duplicate," so no statement is made here about operating condition, hours or service history - the instrument is offered as-is and has not been function tested in this record.
