Equipment Description
Labconco Purifier Axiom Class II, Type C1 biological safety cabinet, 6 ft nominal width, catalog no. 304611100, serial no. 180559068 (nameplate, photo 6). The Axiom C1 is Labconco's Omni-Flex dual-mode cabinet: it can run recirculating in Type A mode for routine microbiological work, or be connected to a building exhaust system and run in Type B mode for work with volatile chemicals or radionuclides in the defined Chem-Zone area. It provides personnel, product and environmental protection through fully scannable 99.99%+ supply and exhaust HEPA filters, a negative-pressure design, dual DC ECM blowers and the Constant Airflow Profile (CAP) airflow monitoring system. Per Labconco's published data for this 115 V domestic model, electrical service is 115 volts, 60 Hz, single phase, 12 amps, with a 20 A North America cord and plug; exhaust volume is in the 556-685 CFM range and the programmable sash positions are 8 in and 10 in. The unit has a unitized, pressure-tested stainless steel interior with a curved waterfall inlet grille, a removable one-piece work surface, and a Glacier White epoxy-coated steel exterior. Visible in the photos: the membrane control panel with Blower, Light, Outlets, UV Light, Timer, OK/Mute, Menu and Select keys (photo 2); a UV lamp and interior display/monitor in the work zone (photo 5); two service fixture valves on the interior side and rear walls plus a pedestal burner on the work surface (photos 1, 4, 5); a Vacu-Pass style portal and a flush electrical outlet cover in the rear wall (photo 5); and the matching Labconco base stand with lower shelf and leveling feet (photo 1). At the time of the photos the cabinet was in place in a clean room, ducted to a ceiling exhaust thimble and connected to piped services above the unit, so it will need to be disconnected before removal (photo 1). A Cleanrooms Plus Certificate of Compliance card dated 12-2-2022 is affixed to the side panel (photo 3). No field notes on operating condition, hours or service history were provided, and the unit was not observed running.
