Equipment Description
Labconco WaterPro RO is a reverse osmosis water purification system that produces ASTM Type III/IV reagent-grade water from a tap or softened feed supply. It is intended for laboratory tasks such as reagent preparation, glassware rinsing and feeding glassware washers, and uses a three-stage arrangement of prefilter, carbon filter and reverse osmosis membrane driven by an internal 1/4 hp motor/rotary vane booster pump. Published specifications for catalog number 9075020 list RO water production of up to approximately 1 L/min at 25 C, an integral 17 liter (4.4 gallon) polyethylene storage tank, an internal pressure gauge reading 0 to 160 psi, an automatic flush valve that rinses the membrane and tank after periods of inactivity, and a tank air vent filter. Electrical requirement is 115 volts, 60 Hz, single phase with a standard North American cord and plug. The cabinet is epoxy/powder-coated steel with a Type 304 stainless steel front panel, and the unit can be set on a bench or wall mounted. This unit, serial number 171151149, carries a Labconco quality assurance sticker dated 10/23/17 (photo 4) and the catalog/serial label is intact. The control panel with LED water quality display and MODE, DISPENSE and ON/OFF keys is visible in photo 2, as are the three filter housings behind the front cover and the separate WATER TANK section. Lengths of clear tubing, a black power cord and a wall mounting bracket are shown lying with the unit. The machine came out of a medical device/pharmacy compounding facility and still carries the user's asset labels (ID# 110330) and a "NO CALIBRATION REQUIRED" tag (photo 3). It is shown wrapped in protective film with moving blankets, lying on its side; filter cartridges and membrane are consumables and their condition has not been verified.
