Equipment Description
Invitrogen iBlot 2 Gel Transfer Device (REF IB21001), a benchtop dry blotting system used to transfer proteins from polyacrylamide gels onto nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes. The system runs disposable iBlot 2 Transfer Stacks that carry the gel-matrix buffer and integrated copper electrodes, so a western blot transfer is completed in a few minutes without tanks, buffer preparation or liquid handling.

The unit is operated from the integrated color touchscreen on the top panel, which provides preset transfer programs as well as user-adjustable voltage and time settings. The hinged circular blotting chamber opens to a flat stack bed with gold contact plates and a latching lid, and accepts mini and midi format gels; the open chamber is shown in photo 4. The nameplate reads REF IB21001, electrical rating INPUT 100-240 VAC, 6.3 A, 50/60 Hz, single phase, Made in Israel, and carries the CE mark.

This listing covers two iBlot 2 Gel Transfer Devices, serial numbers 030371021 and 031061839, photographed side by side on a laboratory bench with their power cords. One unit carries a red BIOHAZARD label on the top panel, and the second unit has a handwritten label on the front face noting a problem detecting the transfer stack, so the function of that unit should be verified. Both units are shown on the bench with the touchscreens dark; operation was not demonstrated in the photos.
