Equipment Description
MVE HEco Series 1500-190 cryogenic storage freezer, a vapor-phase liquid nitrogen freezer used for long-term storage of cells, cell banks and other biological material at cryogenic temperatures. The vessel is all stainless steel, vacuum-insulated, with a top-loading insulated lid and an integral turntable/rack arrangement for boxes or canisters; the HEco (high efficiency) 1500 series is the large-diameter format built for high vial counts with low liquid nitrogen consumption. The unit is fitted with a Chart MVE TS touch-screen controller mounted on the tank collar, with a braided stainless liquid nitrogen fill hose connected to the fill port. In photo 2 the controller is powered and displaying live data: Temp A -190.0 C, Temp B -196.1 C, liquid level 10.7 in, usage 0.4 in/day, status IDLE, with a 24-hour trend plot and START FILL / FOG CLEAR / STOP FILL / ALARM MUTE / SETUP functions. The controller cabinet label reads MVE TS Cabinet N1412-01-0710B, Ver. 1.00. Operating range is the usual vapor-phase window of roughly -196 C at the liquid to -190 C at the top of the storage space. The freezer sits on the floor on casters and is shown in service in a biopharmaceutical facility; a two-step aluminum platform stand is shown alongside it in the photos for access to the lid. It ships as one piece, approximately 44 in x 44 in x 76 in overall. No serial number, build year or service history was recorded, and only the tank and its mounted controller were photographed - inventory racks, canisters or boxes are not documented.
