Equipment Description
New Brunswick Scientific Innova 40 benchtop incubator shaker. The Innova 40 series is an orbital shaking incubator built around a triple-eccentric counterbalanced drive for quiet, continuous operation, with a self-supporting clear hood that keeps flasks in view during a run. It is used for microbial and cell culture, media screening and seed culture work with flasks up to 3 L. The unit has a speed range of 25 to 500 rpm and a microprocessor-controlled digital display with programmable set points for speed, temperature and time. The control panel in photo 2 is lit and reads "INNOVA:40R, Stroke: 0.75 in", indicating a 0.75 in (1.9 cm) orbit drive and the refrigerated variant of the series. The machine runs on 120 V, 60 Hz single-phase power. Serial number SI40EM401229 is read from the label on the front of the base (photo 3). The photos show the shaker on the floor with its transparent hood in place, a flat platform installed and a foam tube/flask holder resting inside; no flask clamps or additional platforms are shown. The front control knob and power switch are present. Field notes from the on-site visit: Lifordi NH lot 95 - New Brunswick Innova 40 shaking incubator. The display was illuminated at the time of the visit, so the unit powers on. No other condition, service history or accessory information was provided.
