Equipment Description
Somark Innovations Labstamp automated rodent tattoo identification system, model 01-99001 Rev. B (Labstamp 1.0), serial number 990001-183. The Labstamp is a benchtop instrument used in vivarium and research animal facilities to apply permanent, legible alphanumeric tattoo identification to mice and other small rodents. The animal is placed in a restraint, positioned at the front loading bay of the unit, and the machine applies the coded tattoo automatically from a disposable needle and ink cartridge. Operation is from an integrated membrane control panel with an alphanumeric keypad, a digital display, AUTO INCREMENT and CHANGE NEEDLE function keys, START and STOP buttons, and a RESTRAINT CARTRIDGE STATUS indicator. Auto-increment allows sequential ID codes to be applied across a group of animals without re-entering data. The unit runs from an external desktop AC adapter (universal 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz input; 24 VDC, 1.7 A output), so it needs only a standard bench outlet. The accessories photographed with the system include the Volgen 24 VDC AC adapter and line cord, two ink/needle cartridge assemblies, three cartridge or needle modules, SMALL and LARGE restraint paddles, and a Labstamp small/large reference tag. The main unit measures approximately 18 in x 13 in x 7 in and is hand carryable. Field notes for this unit record it as Lifordi NH lot 105 - Somark Labstamp. No further condition, service or operating history was provided by the field user, and the machine was not confirmed to power on at the time of the visit; it is offered as-is for buyer inspection.
