Equipment Description
Southworth spring actuated pallet level loader with turntable (PalletPal 360 style). The unit is a self-leveling pallet positioner that uses a bank of heavy compression springs and shock absorbers under a scissor frame to automatically raise and lower a pallet load as cases are added or removed, keeping the working layer at a comfortable height. No electrical, hydraulic or air supply is required; the unit is free-standing and is set on the floor where it is needed. The top is a full-diameter rotating turntable ring (approximately 43-5/8 in turntable on a roughly 44 in x 44 in base) that spins a full 360 degrees so an operator can bring any face of the pallet to the near side instead of walking around the load. Published capacity for this configuration is up to 4,500 lb, with a lowered height of about 9-1/2 in and a raised height of about 28 in. All springs and linkage are contained within the turntable ring, and the base has fork pockets so the loader can be relocated with a lift truck. Photos show several units of this type: yellow-topped loaders with yellow and black accordion-style skirt guards and red scissor frames, one blue/orange unit with a painted turntable top and exposed blue scissor frame and springs, and a separate pallet holding a stretch-wrapped red frame assembly with loose compression springs. The yellow units show paint scratching and general warehouse wear on the turntable tops; the units are sitting loose on wooden pallets and are not connected to any utilities. No nameplate or model tag was legible in the photos and no operational testing is documented.
