Equipment Description
Stirling Ultracold SU780XLE upright ultra-low temperature freezer, an energy-efficient -86 degC laboratory freezer built on Stirling free-piston engine cooling technology. The nameplate rates the unit at 27.5 cu. ft. (780 liter) interior volume, with a temperature setpoint range down to -86 degC; the touchscreen controller in the photos shows the unit running at a -80 degC setpoint. The cabinet is a single self-contained upright unit on casters with a green control head carrying a color touchscreen interface (data and setup, event log, chart history screens), PIN-protected settings, and a door defrost function shown at 20%. Nameplate electrical data: 100 to 264 VAC, 50/60 Hz, maximum current 10 Amps at 120 VAC (5 Amps at 240 VAC), maximum input power 1200 Watts. The unit uses ethane refrigerant (3.2 oz / 90 g), is UL listed and CE marked, and is Energy Star labeled. Listed exterior dimensions on the nameplate are 78.5 in. H x 34.2 in. front-to-back x 36 in. W, net weight 625 lbs. The freezer was in service at a biopharmaceutical / clinical facility and carries biohazard and clinical-use labels on the door. It was powered on and holding its setpoint at the time of the visit. A note on the door indicates the cabinet is locked and a Stirling key is needed to open it; the interior was therefore not inspected and shelving contents are not confirmed. Sold as-is, as-shown in the photos.
