Equipment Description
Thermo Fisher Scientific TSQ Altis triple quadrupole (triple stage quad) mass spectrometer, serial number TSQ-A-10522, read from the instrument nameplate in photo 4. The nameplate carries the standard Thermo "For Research Use Only. Not for Use in Diagnostic Procedures" marking. The TSQ Altis is a high-performance LC-MS/MS platform designed for targeted quantitation of small molecules, peptides and metabolites in complex matrices, and is used widely in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, clinical research, food safety and environmental laboratories. The unit came out of a biopharmaceutical facility. The system is configured for nanoflow/capillary LC-MS. Photo 2 shows the API source housing with an ion source probe and a column heater/valve module mounted to the front of the instrument, and photo 3 looks through the source window at the sweep cone and sprayer assembly. A separate rough/forepump vacuum line runs from the left side of the mass spectrometer. Front-end chromatography is a Thermo Scientific Dionex UltiMate 3000 RSLCnano system, identified by the front panels in photos 1, 5, 7 and 11. Nameplate photos confirm the individual modules: an SRD-3400 solvent rack with degasser (S/N 7262352, P/N 5035.9245, dated 2019, photo 15), an NCS-3500RS CAP SmartFlow nano/capillary pump and column compartment (S/N 8170067, P/N 5041.0020, 300 VA, 100-240 V, 50-60 Hz, dated 2019, photo 16) and a WPS-3000TPL RS thermostatted autosampler (P/N 5826.0020, 320 VA, dated 2019, photo 17). Photos 6, 8 and 10 show the autosampler injection valve, nanoViper fittings and the 5 uL sample loop (P/N 6826.2405), and photo 12 shows the pump's proportioning/degasser plumbing block. Also pictured on a support arm above the mass spectrometer is a Chemyx F100T2 syringe pump (100-240 VAC, 0.4 A, 50/60 Hz, label photo 19) used for direct infusion/tuning, together with a Dynamic Integrated Solutions component labelled P/N 80111-60470, S/N DIS-00-04191360 (photo 14). Solvent bottles, tubing and the nanoViper fluidics are shown in place. No statement is made here about operating condition, hours or calibration status; the instrument should be evaluated by the buyer.
