Equipment Description
The Thermo Scientific Barnstead GenPure UV-TOC xCAD is a benchtop ultrapure (Type 1) water purification system. It polishes pretreated feedwater (RO permeate, distillate or deionized water) through an ion exchange / ultrapure cartridge with an integrated UV photo-oxidation lamp and continuous inline TOC monitoring, producing water at 18.2 Mohm-cm (0.055 uS/cm) at 25 C with a typical TOC of 1 to 5 ppb and dispensing at up to approximately 2 L/min.

This is the xCAD (extended control and dispenser) configuration: the main cabinet houses the cartridge, UV lamp and pump, while the display, keypad and articulated blue dispensing arm sit on a separate remote dispenser unit that connects back to the cabinet by an interface cable and PTFE tubing, so water can be drawn at a point away from the main housing. The front panel of the remote unit carries a graphic display with Power, Enter, Menu, Nonstop, Interval and UV keys.

The nameplate on the rear of the main cabinet reads Thermo Electron LED GmbH, Type GenPure UV-TOC xCAD, Article no. 50136153, Serial no. 3341816000464, Year/Week 1816, Power supply 24V/DC-80W, Made in Sweden, and carries CE, CSA C/US and EAC marks. Rear connections visible in the photos include the 24 V supply input, the xCAD interface connector and the feedwater, ring-line and xCAD supply/return tubing ports.

The unit was photographed in place on a laboratory bench at a medical device facility. The remote dispenser carries a facility tag reading OUT OF SERVICE / PENDING VALIDATION with a calibrate-before-use sticker; no operating or service history was provided and the display was not lit when photographed. A 4 liter collection bottle and a bagged replacement reverse osmosis element are visible on the bench nearby in the photos; their inclusion in the sale is not confirmed.
