Equipment Description
Thermo Scientific Sorvall Lynx 6000 superspeed floor-model centrifuge. The Lynx 6000 is a refrigerated, microprocessor-controlled superspeed centrifuge used in biopharmaceutical and life science labs for cell harvesting, protein and virus precipitate pelleting, and general high-speed separations. Rated to a maximum speed of 29,000 rpm and approximately 100,605 x g with a temperature range of about -20 C to +40 C and a maximum capacity of 6 x 1000 mL depending on the rotor installed. The unit has the color touchscreen user interface on a swiveling arm, an auto-locking Auto-ID rotor drive, and is mounted on casters for positioning. The touchscreen was photographed lit on the Thermo Scientific start-up screen, so the machine takes power. The rotor chamber is shown empty and clean in the photographs. Two rotors were photographed alongside the centrifuge and are included as separate shipping pieces: a Thermo Scientific Fiberlite carbon fiber six-place fixed angle rotor of the F9-6x1000 LEX style with its blue hub and lid, in a padded carrying bag, and a Beckman Coulter JLA-8.1000 six-place fixed angle rotor (lid marked MAX 8000 RPM, date of manufacture 04/19, labeled for use in Avanti J20/J24 instruments), also in a carrying bag. Buyers should note the Beckman rotor is not a Sorvall-series rotor and is offered as it was found with the unit. No service history, hours or testing beyond the power-up shown in the photos is documented.
