Bio-Rad PowerPac HC Electrophoresis Power Supplies with XCell SureLock Mini-Cell

This listing consists of three Bio-Rad PowerPac HC programmable DC power supplies together with a Life Technologies/Invitrogen XCell SureLock electrophoresis cell. The PowerPac HC is a high-current power supply used to drive nucleic acid and protein gel electrophoresis as well as tank and semi-dry western blotting. The front cover is marked 250 V / 3.0 A / 300 W, the maximum output of this model.

Each unit is operated through a two-line, 16-character LCD with a membrane keypad providing setup, reset, constant V/A/W selection, cursor and value keys, and a run/pause key, so voltage, current, power and time parameters can be programmed and monitored from a single screen. Multistep methods and timed runs are supported, with the user choosing constant voltage, constant current or constant power operation. Four pairs of recessed output jacks on the top deck allow up to four cells to be run in parallel. The rating plates read 400 VA maximum power, 50/60 Hz, 8 A Type T fuses and 100-120/220-240 V AC input; the unit carried on this listing bears serial number 043BR71709, and the other two units photographed show serial numbers 043BR15089 and 043BR82053 (the latter plate reads 100-240 V, 450 W input).

Also included is the XCell SureLock vertical mini-cell/midi-cell shown in photos 1 and 5, consisting of the clear buffer tank with gold-plated electrode assembly and lid, with the red tank cover and attached banana-plug leads. The equipment was photographed in place on a laboratory bench at a biopharmaceutical facility; some units carry handwritten and move labels applied by the facility. No power-on test or service history was recorded by the field representative.
