Bio-Rad QX200 Droplet Generator

Bio-Rad QX200 Droplet Generator, a benchtop instrument used in the Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) workflow. The unit partitions a prepared PCR sample into thousands of uniform nanoliter-scale water-in-oil droplets, which are then thermal cycled and read on a QX200 Droplet Reader for absolute nucleic acid quantification without a standard curve. The instrument accepts a disposable DG8 cartridge held in a cartridge holder, processing eight samples per run in roughly two minutes; each 20 ul sample is partitioned into approximately 20,000 droplets using Droplet Generation Oil. Operation is automatic: the green lid is lowered over the loaded cartridge and droplet generation begins, with three front-panel status indicators (power, cartridge and droplet generation) reporting progress. The identification label reads 24 V DC, 1.5 A input, supplied through an external power supply, and carries the CE mark. Photos show the instrument on a laboratory bench with the cartridge bay and holder plate in place and the housing, lid and control indicators intact, with no visible damage. The nameplate gives serial number 772BR6506 and a date of manufacture of June 2018. No external power supply, cartridge holder accessories, cartridges or consumables are confirmed in the photos, and the unit was not shown powered on; condition and functionality have not been verified.
