Bio-Rad Universal Hood II Gel Imaging System

Bio-Rad Universal Hood II gel imaging system (the darkroom/enclosure used with Bio-Rad's ChemiDoc and Gel Doc imagers). The unit is a self-contained light-tight cabinet with a hinged front door, an internal transilluminator/sample stage and an epi-illumination assembly, used for imaging and documentation of stained electrophoresis gels, blots and similar samples. The nameplate on the unit reads Model No. Universal Hood II, Serial No. 76S/09127, Input 100/115/230 V, 50/60 Hz, Max Rated Power 200 VA, F1-F2 fuses Type T 2A, Made in USA, and carries the CE mark and EN 61010-1 marking. The front membrane keypad provides Power and Imaging indicators, light source selection (Trans UV, Prep UV, Epi White, Trans White, Hold) and motorized lens control for Iris, Zoom, Focus and Speed. As photographed, the hood is fitted with a camera/detector head mounted on the top riser above the cabinet, with a lens and interface cable routed down the rear of the unit. A separate external power adapter, power cord and interface cables are present on the bench next to the unit. The hood sits free-standing on a bench top and is connected only by its line cord, with the rocker power switch and fuse block at the lower rear of the cabinet. No computer, monitor or imaging software is shown in the photographs, and no operating or service history was recorded at the time of inspection. The unit has not been verified as powering on; it should be evaluated as-is. A plastic bag of small parts was observed inside the sample chamber.
