Equipment Description
Biotage TurboVap 96 Concentration Workstation, a microprocessor-controlled evaporator/concentrator designed for fast, unattended solvent evaporation from 96-well microplates and deep-well plates. The unit uses heated sample positions combined with a directed nitrogen/gas flow (gas vortex shearing) to concentrate many samples simultaneously, replacing the long evaporation times and constant monitoring of conventional methods. The workstation holds one or two standard 96-well microplates or deep-well plates in two independently controlled positions. The front control panel provides Select, Set and up/down keys with separate Start/Stop buttons for Position 1 and Position 2, indicator lamps and digital Value and Units readouts for Gas Time, Plate Temperature, Flow Rate, Elapsed Time and Cycle Readout, plus Over Temperature and Low Flow alarm indicators. Plate temperature range is ambient to 80 degrees C and gas flow is adjustable up to approximately 90 SCFH per the manufacturer's published data. Nameplate data on this unit reads Part No./Rev. 103263/05, 100/120 V~, 60 Hz, 6 A, single phase, serial number TV1808N22149, CE marked and ETL listed, made in the U.K. Photos show the two stainless steel gas manifold heads with their needle arrays, the two heated plate nests with retaining frames inside the chamber, and the hinged lid over the sample compartment. It is a benchtop unit sitting loose on a bench; no accessories, plates or gas lines are shown with it.
