Equipment Description

The Cytiva (GE Healthcare) AKTA Avant is an automated fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) system for method development and small-scale protein purification. It integrates system pumps, a mixer, injection and column valves, sample application, a multi-wavelength UV monitor, conductivity and pH monitoring and an outlet/fraction collection valve on a single bench-top platform, and is operated with UNICORN control software from a connected PC for automated, reproducible runs. The platform supports affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion, hydrophobic interaction and multimodal chromatography, with automatic buffer preparation/inline dilution, scouting and design-of-experiments capability. It runs on a 100 to 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz single-phase supply. Per the field user's notes, the unit was found packed inside a wooden crate (a ULINE S-20436 40 x 40 x 40 in. crate on a pallet, visible in the photos), so the instrument itself was not accessible for inspection. Operating condition, installed modules, column and accessory content were therefore not verified and are not represented here; the buyer should confirm configuration on inspection.
