Eppendorf 5430 Benchtop Microcentrifuge

Eppendorf Centrifuge 5430 benchtop microcentrifuge, a non-refrigerated high-speed centrifuge for microtubes and other small-volume labware in molecular biology, biochemistry and QC laboratories. The nameplate on the rear of the unit identifies it as Eppendorf type 5427, serial number 5427YG208134, rated 120 V, 6 A, 50-60 Hz, 460 W, with a maximum speed of 17,500 rpm and 10,000 Nm kinetic energy. The unit is UL listed and CE marked and was built in Germany. Control is by the front membrane keypad with an LCD display, five programmable memory positions (prog 1 through prog 5), separate time and speed up/down keys, rpm/rcf toggle, short-spin key, start/stop and motorized lid open. The lid is a motorized soft-touch type with an electronic latch. The centrifuge is fitted with an Eppendorf FA-45-30-11 fixed-angle rotor with 30 positions for 1.5/2.0 mL tubes, rated max 14,000 rpm and 3.75 g per position, with a coated, aerosol-tight rotor lid installed. A blank Alert Scientific preventive maintenance/calibration sticker is affixed to the front panel. The unit is a benchtop instrument sitting loose on a laboratory bench and comes off the bench as a single piece.
