Fisher Scientific accuSpin 1R refrigerated benchtop centrifuge, catalog number 75003449, serial number 40729418, manufactured in 2007 by Thermo Electron Corporation LED GmbH in Osterode, Germany. The accuSpin 1R is a microprocessor-controlled refrigerated centrifuge built for general laboratory sample preparation, with a quiet, maintenance-free brushless induction drive, automatic rotor recognition, imbalance detection and an electronic lid-locking system. The unit is fitted with a four-position swinging bucket rotor (rotor label reads max. 4300 rpm) carrying four round buckets with interchangeable tube-holder inserts, as shown in the open bowl in photo 2. The front panel provides separate LED displays for speed/RCF, time and temperature with membrane keypad set, start/stop and short-spin controls. Nameplate data (photo 3): 120 VAC, 60 Hz, 11.5 A, 1000 W power consumption, single phase, CSA listed. Maximum speed is rotor dependent; the installed buckets are rated to 4000 rpm. The centrifuge was photographed in place on a laboratory bench at a biopharmaceutical facility. A biohazard label and facility asset tags are still affixed to the front housing, and a power cord is present. Operating condition was not verified at the time of the site visit.
