Halo Labs Aura-G Subvisible Particle Analysis System

The Halo Labs Aura-G is a benchtop subvisible particle analysis system built around Backgrounded Membrane Imaging (BMI). Sample is deposited onto a membrane in a microplate-format consumable, the liquid is drawn through, and the retained particles are imaged directly on the membrane, giving 100% sampling efficiency with very small sample volumes. It is used in biologics and parenteral formulation work to count, size and characterize subvisible particles and to help distinguish protein aggregates, silicone oil, air and other particle classes. Published characteristics of the Aura platform include an imaging area of approximately 24.6 mm2, brightfield illumination (LED, 455 nm) plus side illumination (LED, 465 nm), a minimum sample volume of about 5 uL depending on assay, and full sample capture on the membrane. The unit shown is an Aura-G, serial number 02-10083, with a manufacturing date of 2022-05 read from the rear label; that label also lists a 24 V DC, 2.7 A input and CE and Nemko (UL 61010) marks, and the instrument connects to its control computer by USB (rear 'Camera SS' USB port). The system is a self-contained cube-style enclosure with a single front power button and a front sample drawer, and it sits on a benchtop. Per the field user's notes, a PC and keyboard are included: a Dell Precision 3650 tower workstation and a wired Dell keyboard are pictured, along with a bagged set of cables. Cosmetically the top housing shows adhesive residue near the 'aura' logo. No further information on operating history, calibration or service status was recorded during the site visit, and the unit was not reported as powered on or tested. Consumables, plates and software licensing status are not documented; buyers should confirm what software and consumable supply they require.
