Equipment Description

The Invitrogen Qubit 4 Fluorometer (REF Q33226) is a benchtop fluorometer used to quantify DNA, RNA and protein in small sample volumes using fluorescent dye chemistry rather than UV absorbance. It is operated through a color touchscreen interface, runs the standard Qubit assay kits in 0.5 mL Qubit assay tubes, and on this generation also supports RNA integrity and quality (RNA IQ) assessment. Data can be exported from the instrument via USB. The manufacturer's label on the underside (photo 3) identifies it as an Invitrogen by Thermo Fisher Scientific Qubit 4 Fluorometer, serial number 2322621060078, built 2021-06-04 in Singapore, marked UL Listed and CE, for research use only. Unit input is DC 12 V, 2.5 A max. The unit is shown with its external SL Power Electronics 12 V, 2.5 A power supply (100-240 V, 50/60 Hz input), visible in photo 2, and with the sample-chamber lid in place. A facility asset label reading "Property of GreenLight Biosciences" is applied to the lid, and removable tape is present around the lid area. The instrument is a compact, hand-carryable benchtop unit; operating condition was not recorded during the site visit and no assay kits or tubes are shown in the photos.
