Equipment Description
Invitrogen iBlot 2 Gel Transfer Device (REF IB21001), a benchtop dry blotting system used to transfer proteins from polyacrylamide gels to nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes. The system runs disposable iBlot 2 Transfer Stacks that carry the gel-matrix buffer and integrated copper electrodes, so a western blot transfer is completed in roughly seven minutes without tanks, buffer preparation or liquid handling.

The unit is operated from the integrated color touchscreen on the top panel, which provides preset transfer programs along with user-adjustable voltage and time settings. The hinged circular blotting chamber opens to a flat stack bed with gold contact plates and a latching lid; the open chamber is shown in photo 3. The device accepts standard mini and midi format gels.

The nameplate in photo 4 reads invitrogen by Thermo Fisher Scientific, iBlot 2 Gel Transfer Device, REF IB21001, SN 030772174, electrical rating INPUT 100-240 VAC, 6.3 A, 50/60 Hz, EN61326 Class A Group 1, CE marked, made in Israel. A second iBlot 2 unit is included with this listing and is pictured alongside the first; its nameplate (photo 5) reads REF IB21001, SN 031061440, with the same 100-240 VAC, 6.3 A, 50/60 Hz rating.

Both devices are shown sitting on a laboratory bench with power cords attached. Photos show normal cosmetic wear, handwritten identification labels on the front panels and light staining inside the blotting chamber. The displays are not lit in any photo, so operating condition has not been verified.
