Equipment Description
The bioMerieux BacT/ALERT 3D is an automated colorimetric microbial detection system used in clinical and pharmaceutical laboratories for blood culture and sterility testing. Culture bottles are loaded into agitating, temperature-controlled incubation drawers held at approximately 35 C, and a colorimetric sensor in the base of each bottle is read at regular intervals so CO2 produced by growing organisms is detected continuously and flagged automatically. The incubation modules in this listing are the bottle-holding, incubating portion of that system and operate under a BacT/ALERT 3D control module. Two module nameplates are legible in the photos: a BacT/ALERT 3D Left Incubation Module, REF 210159, S/N 010IL9794, label dated 2020-10 (photo 6), and a BacT/ALERT 3D Right Incubation Module, REF 210161, S/N 007IRB648 (photo 5). Each module is arranged as four drawer cells (A-D) and, per EquipNet's earlier listing of this model, accepts up to 240 culture bottles. Electrical data from the nameplates: 100/120 V at 4.0/5.1 A or 220/240 V at 2.3/2.4 A, 50/60 Hz, single phase, 6.3 A / 250 V or 5 A / 250 V fusing. The plates carry CE, IVD and cULus listing marks and are marked Made in USA. The modules are shown on wooden skids inside cardboard cartons, wrapped in pink anti-static film with foam corner packing (photos 1 and 2). A carton in photo 3 contains interconnect/communication cables, a hardware bag and sheets of drawer cell label strips (1C through 6C, A/B/C/D BC labels). One carton is hand-marked "DAMAGED" in photo 4; the extent of any damage was not documented and is not visible in the photos. Power-up was not demonstrated in the photos and no operating hours or service history were recorded. Buyers should confirm which module(s) and accessories are included and inspect for the noted damage marking before purchase.
