A global leader in wind energy solutions acquired a facility in Szczecin, Poland, to support its expansion in wind turbine production. The facility contained over 1,000 assets, all of which needed to be sold and removed by the end of 2023. EquipNet was contracted to proceed with the asset sale.
The key challenge was the coordination needed to manage the sale and removal of over 1,000 assets from the Szczecin facility, all within a strict deadline while organizing buyer-seller interactions, managing logistics for asset removal, and overseeing invoicing procedures specific to Poland. The timeline was critical, adding further pressure to handle the process efficiently and without delays.
EquipNet was engaged to handle the sale and asset removal, providing a comprehensive solution for managing the whole process. EquipNet connected potential buyers to conduct thorough inspections and organized a sealed bid auction, which narrowed the competition down to two final bidders before one emerged as the winner. Simultaneously, EquipNet worked with rigging companies to prepare for the removal of assets once the sale was finalized. This involved coordinating the project’s many moving parts—buyer-seller liaison, day-to-day management, transportation logistics, and finance.
The project concluded with a successful sale valued at around €4 million. Despite the complexities, the facility was cleared by the end of 2023, with all assets removed in advance of the final project deadline in mid-March 2024. The efficient coordination between stakeholders and the meticulous management of the sale and removal process ensured no delays, allowing the company to meet its goals and continue with its broader wind energy initiatives.
