Bayer’s agricultural site in Monheim required support following the closure of its seed coating and sorting facility. The site contained a wide range of specialized processing and support equipment, including seed storage and handling containers, dosing pump stations for coating lines, and many more assets.

With the closure of the facility, Bayer needed assistance managing both the redeployment of usable assets within their organization and the sale of surplus equipment. Approximately 105 assets required managing as part of this process and although there was no fixed hard deadline at the outset, a clear timeline was established and later adjusted several times to align with Bayer’s evolving needs. While there were no logistical challenges on-site, the variety and value of the assets required careful management to ensure a successful outcome.

EquipNet was engaged to handle the entire scope of asset management, from initial scoping and inventory cataloging through to redeployment and sales. The sales strategy focused on utilizing EquipNet’s MarketPlace platform, with no auctions conducted and no dedicated marketing budget applied. Additionally, EquipNet employed its Asset Redeployment Management System (ARMS) to identify assets that could be repurposed within Bayer’s broader operations, ensuring maximum value recovery.

Through these combined efforts, EquipNet successfully redeployed 14 assets internally for Bayer, while 91 assets were sold via the Marketplace platform. The total project sales value reached €1,057,267.00. Despite multiple timeline extensions requested by Bayer, EquipNet delivered the project within all agreed-upon timeframes. Bayer confirmed their satisfaction with EquipNet’s services, citing the team’s flexibility, professionalism,

and comprehensive approach as key factors in the project’s success.
