A leader in clinical research and laboratory services, Charles River Laboratories, required assistance moving lab equipment and furniture between multiple sites to streamline operations and accommodate new workflows.

The project presented several significant challenges. The scope changed multiple times, initially involving a single move, which expanded to two separate moves just two weeks before the start date. This added considerable time pressure, as there was less than a month to coordinate and execute the first move. Concurrently with the primary project, Charles River requested assistance in moving furniture from their Northridge site to their Reno site, also with less than a month for coordination.

To address these challenges, we implemented a strategic and highly coordinated approach. Our team conducted on-site visits in February and April to oversee the equipment removal process, ensuring proceedings were smooth and went according to plan. We managed all aspects of the move, from packing and loading the equipment to coordinating door-to-door transport. The equipment move was split into two phases, one in February and another in April, to accommodate the changing scope and tight timelines.

The meticulous planning and execution of the project yielded impressive results. We successfully moved all equipment from one Memphis site to another within the stipulated time-frame. The project involved redeploying 110 listings, ensuring all laboratory assets were adequately managed and accounted for. Additionally, the project achieved a remarkable $1,595,420 in savings, four times the anticipated amount, showcasing our efficiency and effective equipment management services.
