The client is a leading global healthcare company that specializes in a wide range of medical services including medical imaging and information technologies, drug discovery, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Headquartered in the United Kingdom, they are a multibillion dollar company employing more than 46,000 people across the globe.

Having been a corporate client of EquipNet’s for many years, EquipNet has partnered with this client on over 30 different projects globally.

Early in the year, the client reached out to EquipNet requesting assistance with a facility closure in Staffanstorp,

Sweden involving over 100 assets. This facility had been manufacturing a raw ingredient used for insulin and involved a surplus of very specialized bioprocessing equipment. The client needed to continue production until July, leaving a very tight deadline to remove the assets from the facility. Since this was a leased building, the landlord required the client be out of the facility by November. With specialized equipment that could potentially be difficult to sell, along with a tight deadline, EquipNet had to act fast to ensure proper clearance for the client.

EquipNet’s specialists provided an onsite inventory of all the remaining assets in the facility. From there, the equipment was listed for negotiated sale on EquipNet’s MarketPlaceTM, the world’s largest online venue for pre-owned equipment.

The client was able to redeploy some of the equipment to another facility north of Staffanstorp. Through our negotiated sales efforts, EquipNet was able to find buyers for a number of the assets from the client’s facility. The remaining items were either donated or scrapped, and all equipment was managed properly within the designated timeframe.
