The client is a multinational beauty company specializing in fragrances and cosmetics as well as skin, hair, and nail care products. The company owns over 70 well-known brands across the globe.
A turnkey solution was needed for a complete closure of the client’s facility in Hünfeld, Germany. This site was home to over 1,000 high-quality, late model equipment assets which now had to be inventoried, tagged, and sold within the client’s requested deadline. Equipment available included multiple aerosol lines, storage tanks, small-scale laboratory equipment, powder and liquid fillers, plant utilities equipment, and more.
After the start of the project, a significant change in the schedule caused a revision in the timeline, meaning a much shorter deadline than anticipated. In addition to the shorter timeframe, EquipNet had to work within government regulations, having to formulate specialized sales contracts for certain countries.
EquipNet’s specialists included the following services for a comprehensive solution to the client’s asset management needs.
EquipNet’s specialists handled the inventory of the assets on-site. From there, a plan was made to optimize sell-through and financial return for the client. The equipment was listed onto EquipNet’s Online MarketPlace – the largest online marketplace for pre-owned equipment – for negotiated sale. A dedicated online auction event was scheduled later to assist in sell-through of the lower value assets and additional equipment that did not sell through the MarketPlace.
EquipNet successfully managed and sold over 1,000 pieces of equipment for the client within the requested timeline, bringing in over $2.5 million in sales for the client. The client was very satisfied with the final result and is looking forward to working with EquipNet in the future.
