Ohaus SPX2201 Scout Portable Balance

Ohaus SPX2201 Scout portable precision balance. The Scout SPX series is a compact, top-loading benchtop balance intended for general laboratory, production and R&D weighing. This model has a maximum capacity of 2200 g with a readability of 0.1 g, as read from the data label on the underside of the unit (photo 3). The balance uses a 170 x 140 mm (6.7 x 5.5 in) stainless steel weighing platform over a molded plastic base with a backlit LCD display and a four-key front panel: Zero/Yes, Print/Units, Function/Mode/Back and Tare/Menu/Exit. Leveling is by four adjustable feet with a level indicator visible next to the display. The label states power input of 5 VDC, 1 A and the unit can alternatively run on 4 x AA (LR6) batteries; the battery compartment is in the base. The nameplate carries CE, cCSAus and RCM markings. Photos show the balance with its external AC power adapter and cord, the stainless steel pan and the pan support. Cosmetically the unit shows normal use: light scratching on the pan, adhesive residue on the housing near the Ohaus logo and a prior owner's asset tag on the front bezel. No functional testing is documented in the field notes, and no calibration weights, printer or other accessories are shown.
