Psycho Brew 20 BBL Capacity Steam Jacketed Stainless Steel Brite Tank

Psycho Brew steam jacketed stainless steel brew Tank, built in Michigan and used in a craft brewing operation. The vessel is a vertical cylindrical stainless tank with a dished top head, sloped/dished bottom and four stainless legs with bolt-down base plates, and carries the oval "Psycho Brew - Made in Michigan" badge on the upper shell (photo 1). It is arranged as the boil kettle of a brewhouse, with sanitary tri-clamp fittings around the top head and shell and a top-mounted vapor connection.

Heating is by a steam jacket on the lower portion of the vessel. Photo 4 shows the jacket steam connection hard-piped with a union, Y-strainer and steam trap on the condensate side, so the kettle requires a plant steam supply and condensate return rather than electric power. A dial thermometer is mounted on the lower shell (photo 1) and a full-height external sight glass with a graduated volume scale reading from roughly 2.4 up to 13.5 runs down the side of the vessel (photo 5), with a sanitary tri-clamp connection at its lower end.

The tank measures approximately 62 in long by 62 in wide by 108 in high with an estimated shipping weight of 1,800 lbs. The exterior is polished stainless with normal brushing, handling marks and light discoloration consistent with production use; the photographs show the unit still installed in the brewhouse, bolted to the floor and connected to steam piping, so it will need to be disconnected before removal. No control panel, pump or accessories are shown with the vessel in the photographs.
