Sakura Tissue-Tek TEC 5 Tissue Embedding Center with Cryo Module

The Sakura Tissue-Tek TEC 5 is a modular tissue embedding center used in histology laboratories to orient fixed, processed tissue specimens in molten paraffin and produce blocks for microtomy. This listing consists of two matched side-by-side modules that form a single console at a common work-surface height: the embedding module (code 5101, model TEC 5 EM A-1, serial 51011104) and the cryo module (code 5102, model TEC 5 CM A-1, serial 51021090), both read from their nameplates in photos 8 and 5. The embedding module carries the LCD control panel with EXIT, SET, +, HEAT, -, CRYO, ENTER, LIGHT keys and an AUTO/MAN selector for programming heating, cryo and automatic start-up/shut-down, plus a display adjustment control and its own POWER rocker switch (photos 3 and 7). The paraffin-dispensing head with a metered flow control knob sits over the stainless steel work area, which is flanked by heated left and right mold/cassette reservoir compartments with hinged covers and a forceps warming well. The cryo module to the left provides a refrigerated cold plate for rapid block chilling and has its own POWER switch (photo 4). Electrical data from the nameplates: the embedding module is rated 115 volts, 9.0 amps, 60 Hz single phase, and the cryo module 115 volts, 2.0 amps, 60 Hz single phase. Both carry ETL listing marks to UL STD 61010A and CAN/CSA STD C22.2, and both are labeled for in vitro diagnostic use and made in Japan for Sakura Finetek U.S.A. The units are shown in place on a laboratory bench, plugged into bench outlets, with a facility asset tag applied to the embedding module front panel. No operating test, hours or service history is documented. The console ships as two separate pieces, the embedding module and the cryo module.
