Equipment Description

Stainless Steel Mash Lauter Tun With False Bottom And Hinged Lid

Stainless steel mash lauter tun of vertical cylindrical design, used in a craft brewhouse to mix milled grain with hot liquor and then separate the sweet wort from the spent grain bed. The vessel is fitted with a wedge-wire/perforated false bottom (visible in photo 4) that supports the grain bed during lautering and allows the wort to be run off clear.

The tank measures approximately 54 in diameter and 66 in overall height and is closed by a two-piece hinged top with a full-length piano hinge and a lift handle. The shell is unjacketed, with a bottom side outlet fitted with a sanitary clamp and flexible hose, and an external run-off/return tube running up the side of the vessel. The unit stands on legs on a grated brew-deck floor next to the rest of the brewhouse and is connected by hose and hard piping to the adjacent kettle/hot liquor vessels shown in the photos.
