Equipment Description
Ted Pella 28156-B (Premiere XH-1003) lighted tissue flotation bath, a benchtop histology water bath used to float paraffin-embedded tissue sections prior to mounting, staining or immunohistochemistry. The low-profile unit has a removable rectangular glass basin set into a gray painted steel housing, with LED illumination from the side of the basin to make floating sections easy to see against the water surface. The digital control panel on the front carries separate LED readouts for actual temperature and set temperature in degrees C, up/down and SET keys, a LED lamp key and an ON/OFF key, plus RUN, HEAT and ALM indicators. Published specifications for the XH-1003 give adjustable heating from ambient to approximately 75 degrees C with roughly +/-1 degree C control. The nameplate on the rear of the unit reads 110 V, 60 Hz, 500 watts, single phase, and lists Model No. 28156-B with Serial No. 28156-B-S005. The unit is shown on a laboratory bench with its glass basin in place and partly filled, and a slide/section pick-up hook resting in the basin. Approximate footprint is 16 x 14 x 8 inches with an estimated shipping weight of about 25 lbs, so it can be hand carried and shipped as a single boxed piece. Condition was not recorded by the field rep and the unit was not observed operating; function and any accessories should be confirmed by the buyer.
