Thermo Scientific Sorvall BIOS A floor model refrigerated laboratory centrifuge, a bioprocessing centrifuge built for harvesting, separation and purification work where run-to-run reproducibility and traceability matter. The unit carries an integrated refrigeration system (R-449A refrigerant per the rating plate) and a color touchscreen control interface mounted on the front corner of the cabinet. According to the manufacturer's published data for this model, the BIOS A handles up to 10 liters of sample volume (10 x 1000 mL configuration) and reaches up to approximately 12,000 x g, with a maximum rotor speed of about 6,250 rpm depending on the rotor installed. The rating plate on this unit (photo 4) reads Sorvall BIOS A, REF 75007698, serial 42930648, manufactured 2021-10-29, max kinetic energy 386 kNm, single phase, 200-240 V, 50/60 Hz, 27-32 A, 6000 W at 50 Hz / 6400 W at 60 Hz. The plate carries CE, UKCA and cUL listing marks. The centrifuge is a self-contained floor unit on casters with a hinged top lid, rear service access panel and side ventilation grilles. The photos show the machine disconnected and standing loose on the floor with its power cord coiled on top and a small bag of hardware; no rotor or buckets are visible in the photos and none should be assumed to be included.
