Timberline Instruments TL105-HT HPLC Column Heater

The Timberline Instruments TL105-HT is a benchtop HPLC column heater used to hold analytical columns at a controlled, stable temperature, which improves retention time reproducibility, lowers mobile phase viscosity and backpressure, and stabilizes baselines for temperature-sensitive detectors. It is a stand-alone unit that sits beside the HPLC stack and is plumbed in line between the injector and the detector; it contains no pump and no detector of its own. The instrument nameplate identifies it as a TL105-HT HPLC Column Heater with one HX-101 heat exchanger (1/16 in OD x 0.010 in ID pre-heater coil), 120 VAC input and a 150 watt heater. Temperature is set and displayed on a front-mounted Fuji Electric PXR-4 digital controller reading in degrees Celsius, with alarm indicators (AL1/AL2/AL3) and SEL/up/down keys. The front panel carries labeled stainless steel INLET and OUTLET bulkhead fittings for the column plumbing, and the hinged/removable top cover gives access to the insulated aluminum column chamber, which holds the column and the inlet heat exchanger coil against a machined heater block. The unit is a compact rectangular enclosure, roughly 20 in long x 7 in wide x 6 in high, light enough for one person to carry, and carries a hot-surface warning tag. Serial number 012918001. Photographs show the column chamber open and empty; no column, tubing set, manuals or other accessories are shown with the unit. Cosmetically the housing shows light handling marks and some staining inside the heater chamber consistent with prior laboratory use. Operating condition was not verified, and the unit is offered as-is from an R&D facility.
