The chromatograph handles extreme temperatures without the use of liquids: Heating: The column oven, injectors, and detectors are heated using high-power electrical heating elements. Standard Cooling: To rapidly cool the oven (e.g., from 300 °C to 50 °C for the next run), the equipment automatically opens a rear vent and uses a high-speed forced-air fan.
Consumables for the Varian 450-GC: Injectors (e.g., CP-1177 Split/Splitless): High-temperature septa (11 mm), glass liners (deactivated, with or without quartz wool), and support filaments. Column connections: Graphite or Vespel/graphite ferrules and brass or stainless-steel capillary nuts. Carrier gases: Moisture, oxygen, and hydrocarbon traps for carrier gas lines (Helium/Nitrogen) and ignition gases (Hydrogen/Air for the FID). CombiPAL Autosampler Spare Parts: Dedicated syringes: Liquid syringes (10 µL to 500 µL) and heated, gas-tight Headspace syringes (1.0 mL to 5.0 mL). Arm mechanics: Replacement plungers, needles, drive belts for the X/Y/Z axes, and interconnection cables with the GC. Washing: Replacement vials and large septa for the solvent washing station.
